What is Verity Mod?
Verity is known as a Minecraft horror experience built around an intelligent hostile presence, escalating tension, and systems that can react to player behavior. Public videos describe the concept; current installable Java files are published separately as Verity JE.
Who created Verity?
ThatMob is the creator most closely associated with the original Verity concept. The Verity JE CurseForge page says the port has explicit permission from ThatMob, so the original concept and the current Java publisher should not be treated as the same role.

As of August 16, 2026, CurseForge lists file page 8647355 as Verity JE v6.0.0-beta.5 for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge, and the page shows 245.9 MB. Its automated download endpoint returned HTTP 403 during the check, so use the official file page instead of a guessed CDN URL. Modrinth record ZxHGMv6f is a separate older record.

Why Verity is a horror mod
The appeal is not only a new mob. Verity videos emphasize observation, uncertainty, audio cues, and the feeling that the threat learns from the player. That makes the project closer to adaptive psychological horror than a simple boss add-on.
Java, Bedrock, and similarly named projects
Verity JE is a Java mod project. Bedrock listings use MCADDON or MCPACK formats and are separate community projects. A newly published Modrinth page with the same name should also be checked by author, loader, file history, and permissions before it is treated as equivalent.
